october.

Can you believe it's almost October? I sure can't! October brings my birthday.... which I'm not sure I'm thrilled about. 23. It seems like I should be established in a career, but I am far, far, far away from it. I'm working at a hospital and not loving it so much. My goal is to have a new job that I will enjoy before my birthday. I don't need anything else if I get that. Well, except for my early birthday present my husband got me (my MacBook). But, I do think it would be fun to think of 29 things I would want for my birthday. And that would make blogging ideas for the next 29 a little more easy. SO, starting tomorrow October 1st, I will be blogging about my search for a new job (to keep me motivated) and also about what I would like for my birthday (just wishes, nothing I HAVE to have.)

I already got started on the job search. Today my resume got updated and I did a couple of online applications. And, I have been praying God will show me what He wants and not just what I want. Please be praying with me!

I love, love, LOVE all the colors in these photos.... I want to go buy a whole new wardrobe based off these colors for fall. And, I would like to go pick some apples and go to a pumpkin farm!

Look What I Did Today:

Go to the salon's site to see all about it. The dark is a BIG difference. The color is fabulous, but might take some time getting used to. It's very fall and my husband loves it. The salon experience was fantastic. I had never been before and got a tour of the place. They have robes for you to put on in a changing room (so you don't get hair or dye on your clothes), offer water (cucumber or lemon), have a "color bar" where you watch them make your color and the best part was the "lather lounge" where they wash your hair. She spent a good amount of time massaging my hair and even my neck. Definitely will go back again! Thanks Tristie for my great color!

i want one....

a puppy.... not a baby, yet!

meet dexter and baby nolan (my adorable nephew)

i have the next two days off and i'm going to be productive! there is cleaning to do, maybe getting some fall items, looking for a new job, and being outside. oh, i LOVE fall!

when we buy our first place....

i will paint and i can't wait. but, won't go crazy. i like some white.

dallas & love.

We are heading to Dallas for a weekend get-a-way from Springfield. And, I'm hoping to make a trip to IKEA while we're there. We need some more throw pillows on our huge sofa. I'm thinking maybe some more color? I've considered making some, but want to see what they have first. It's sad to say, but there are no IKEA's close to here.

we need more pillows, right?!
the two we have are cute.

I'm excited to see my brother and his family in Dallas, but I'm not sure about leaving fall weather.... It's supposed to be 86 degrees there tomorrow. It kind of makes me like Missouri.

We're married!!

Our wedding day was August 8, 2009.
It was a HOT and windy day, but we think it was perfect.

Isn't he handsome?!

check out the lovely list! so cute, and you could win an amazingly cute bike!

sweet fall weather.

i have the day off from work, so i am going to enjoy today. i won a "bet" with michael so i now get to spend one of our giftcards from macys on clothes... i may go shopping. but, for now i'm going to make some hot tea and enjoy the today show.

welcome to our home.

we are living downtown.... which we love. our good friends, the watsons, told us about this place and now we have fantastic neighbors! it's a newly renovated old building. we can walk to the square, movies, shopping, food, parks, coffee shops.... you name it. so, if you come over sometime this will welcome you at the door.

the yellow mirror is from charlies flea market, as well as the bowl for keys, the frame is from Target with a picture from the wedding, the table is from a flea market in Joplin (also used as our Unity Candle table in our wedding), the vase is from Target... my mother in law painted the limbs on it, the plant is a gift from our neighbor-mrs. watson.

hair.

you know how it goes... when you have short hair, you want long.... but, when you have long hair, you want short. well, my hair is at that in-between stage and i'm wanting to let it grow. i saw this picture of bethany dillon and it made me think....maybe that is a good length. what to do?

charming scooter?

we bought a scooter. but, i'm already not a very big fan. we wrecked, kinda. michael says it was like a bike wreck. it scared me and i have not really wanted to ride again. we're trying to figure out if we should keep it (and me get over my fears) or get rid of it. it's so cute, really. i just don't know how long it will take for me to get back on. is this silly or what??

****UPDATE****WE ARE SELLING THE SCOOTER. It's on Craigslist.

the wedding day is done and now we're getting into our married life together. it's been great!! i'm really enjoying being around my best friend so much. he's a wonderful husband. but, today he is sickly. it's been a very relaxing saturday and i like it very much! tomorrow should be relaxing too because as soon as we are out of church, michael will be glued to the tv watching football. oh, football season, how i've missed sunday afternoon naps!

i'm going to go try out a recipe given to me by my friend mrs. watson! i'm sure it will be great!

here is the recipe:
1 can cream corn
1 can black beans
1 can navy beans
1/2 can rotel
1/2 can mexican rotel
1 can chicken broth
1 packet hidden valley ranch mix
1 packet taco seasoning
4 chicken breasts (cubed and boiled)

i'm going to fix the chicken tonight and make the rest in the crock pot. it's for a parent lunch for the youth at Stonebridge, so i hope it turns out like skyler's does!
