trick or treated out.

we had a fun day, but i'm sooo sleepy.  thank goodness for an extra hour of sleep tonight!  here's a look at what the corn maze that we went to last night looks like from above.  pretty cool, huh?  i think so.

now, we are looking out our windows at some "pub crawlers" for the 12th annual halloween crawl downtown Springfield, Mo.  some people amaze me... that's all i have to say!

hope everyone had a happy halloween... now can we talk about thanksgiving and all the goodness that comes with it??  i LOVE thanksgiving meals.  in fact, we pretty much had thanksgiving tonight at michael's parents house. yummy! goooodnight, i'm being an old lady and going to bed. soon.

{i love a good bargain}

i bought this ruffle-goodness from a shop called "weezies" in ozark, mo.
it is marc jacobs retailed at $210.
i got it for $24.00. steal.

i don't normally do "photo shoots" of myself.

i feel so vain.

but, one more by the flowers.

Now, to go grocery shopping and then to the corn mazes.

happy halloween weekend.

Pretty flowers from my husband :)

No dressing up for us this year, maybe next year...
But we are going to the corn maze tonight with these two:

Can ya guess who they are?

color, color, color.

i'm usually a very neutral person, but today i like some color...

my cousin, lindsay, used to have a spiral staircase in her house.
i was always amazed by it.

my neighbor, skyler, has a pale pink coffee table.
i wish my husband would consider some pink.
our place is sooo bright, which i like,
but i love the dark floors and walls.
i love the grey couch.
it seems so cozy.

i want the pug.

all photos found via apartment therapy

this and that for today.

found here.

it's my birthday.

i am twenty-three years old today.  it doesn't feel like it one bit.  i chose to have all the family (minus my big bro and his family in texas) go to silver dollar city on sunday.  it's a tradition that the birthday person gets to eat where ever they want, and the skillet from sdc sounded excellent.  so, all 14 of us drove to branson and had a wonderful day.  we rode many rides, including the kid ones.  i still feel like a kid at heart and probably would pass for one at times (remember i'm not too tall.. haha.)

my dad and i matched in plaid (not on purpose):

my niece and i matched in plaid (not on purpose):

michael and hagen matched in stripes (and hair):

my baby bro and me.

the lankfords, my sister's adorable family.
(enjoying a yummy funnel cake)

my new nephew, jackson

hagen and kadi

kadi enjoyed this swing/boat

this makes me smile.

see, still a kid :)

Happy Birthday to me!

not a very fun day at work, but i have the next 5 off.  thank goodness!  i can be grateful i have a job.  i need to be more grateful.  tomorrow is my birthday and i'm looking forward to relaxing... and my husband brought me flowers.  he is the sweetest man.

happy monday?

i'm going to be boring today...  i'm tired. and, probably will be like this the next couple of days.  it's not my favorite thing leaving for work when it's dark outside still and coming home when it's already dark out.  monday nights are probably my favorite as far as tv shows go. so i'm enjoying sitting on the couch with my husband.  by the way, i'm so glad i married a man that loves roller-coasters like me.

There's us on Wildfire at Silver Dollar City!  My dad and little brother are right behind us.
I've always been my dad's roller-coaster buddy.

Love:

My niece, Kadi and nephew, Hagen (and Pearl the cat).

We had a fabulous fall day at Silver Dollar City!  I love my family so much.  Now... it's laundry time.  Oh, and it's my birthday week. :)

NEW NAME!

i've been trying to come up with a name for the blog for quite some time.  my real name was just not the feel i was going for.  there were many names i thought of, but then would search and it was already taken... so this is love starts today. :)  it came to mind and then i searched it to make sure it was okay to use and here's a little of what came up.

So this is love, Mmmmmm
So this is love
So this is what makes life divine
I'm all aglow, Mmmmmm
And now I know
The key to all heaven is mine
My heart has wings, Mmmmmm
And I can fly
I'll touch ev'ry star in the sky
So this is the miracle that I've been dreaming of
Mmmmmm
Mmmmmm
So this is love

Can you guess what movie the song is from?

happy friday!

i'm feeling much better today!  it's a good thing because we have tons going on this weekend.  tomorrow i am hanging out with Skyler while Michael goes to some scary movie with the boys (have  i mentioned how TERRIBLE i am with scary movies?)  we will probably hang out with michael's family at some point and sunday is going to be a great day!  i get to see my family!!
we are all heading to silver dollar city for some fall festivities.  so, we'll be there with my family and his family.  it's so great that our parents get along!  enjoy the weekend.

photos of me and my husband from our friends wedding wall, the watson's found here & here .

changed my mind. imagine that.

I mentioned on my very first birthday wish that I wanted a certain calendar... well, I changed my mind.  The other one is still cute and I would like it, but this one from Letter C Design I would LOVE .  I think it's going on my Christmas list.  They are not expensive at all... so I could just buy them for myself, but it's much more fun as a gift.  Right?

I would also like to receive this pocket planner:

I just need to decide on which cover I like most...

What do you think?

Under the Weather...

I'm not feeling so well today.  My throat hurts badly and this nasty headache will not go away.  So, I'll think of yesterday and the beautiful day I had.  It was simply AMAZING outside... a perfect day for all the following:

Flying Kites at Jordan Valley Park

Carrie and Lindsey make me want short hair... it's so cute!

Playing outside with Jackson

And, it was a warm fall day... notice a tank and no shoes.  Now, I think it's time to sleep some more....

Another birthday wish...

I would gladly accept this bag from Anthropologie .  Michael and I went to a birthday party for our nephew, Jackson, last night. Sadly, I'm a horrible aunt and did not have my camera with me.  One of Lucy's (my mother-in-law) friends has this bag and I was in love with it.  It's even more adorable in person, if that is possible.  The fabric on the inside is so lovely.  Ok, I'm going to stop talking about a bag this way.  It will have to wait until it's on sale.  I don't spend much on bags.

heart of light.

I love finding new blogs (to me) and today I stumbled upon rachel at heart of light.  I'm pretty sure I browsed her blog before, but this morning I looked through and found some things I adored.

So here's some lovely photos from:

Rachel has a lovely etsy shop with belts, headbands, corsages and more.  And, on her blog she has a food index as well as a DIY index.  She also does Friday Flowers which I was going to do in attempt to find my wedding flowers.... but failed miserably.  I'm terrible at following through on certain things... like friday flowers and my birthday wishes... oops!  My birthday wish for today would be one of Rachel's beautiful belts, in navy blue.  Thanks Rachel for all the lovely inspiration!

Happy Friday!

happy weekend!  i wish i was in colorado hiking up a mountain like the one in the photo above.  i'm not 100% looking forward to it... i have to work a 12 hour shift tomorrow. boo.  but, i'm looking forward to:
spending time with my husband
going out tonight with sean and ava
seeing the leaves change more and more
church on sunday and small group
sunday afternoon on the couch while michael watches football
and michaels sister, jaime and her son nephew coming to live in Springfield!
