mya, the alien eyed dog.

Mya is my sister's puppy.  She's TINY.
I was so scared someone was going to step on her with all the people at my parents house.
She survived and is adorable.....
but I fell in LOVE with the way Dexter snuggled up on our laps and was sooo content.

Michael and Amber,

We want your dog.
Thanks.

Love,
the Gordons

P.S.  Target has some super cute dresses right now!   Both dresses in the pictures are from there. :)

kissy girl.

one of my nephews decided i was "kissy girl" after my wedding.  he's four.  and every time i'd call to talk with my brother and his kids he'd always say "nooooo. i don't want to talk to that kissy girl!"  they came up from texas for Christmas and he ran and hid from me. :(  BUT, as i was watching michael and coy play the wii jackson started cuddling with me!  i was so happy.  we made the promise that if i did not kiss him then we could be best friends.  LOVE that boy and his cute dimples.

well, hello!

it's been a while, but we've stayed busy and we were without internet a short time. sooooo.... here's a little of how our Christmas went!  we had Christmas eve with his parents and had a good time visiting with his grandparents.  i had to work ALL day long on Christmas day (i was a bit sad and pretty much let everyone know) and then we drove to my parents.  it snowed a little in springfield, but as we got to seneca ohhhh my!  the roads were not good.  but, we made it safely and surprised my family by coming earlier than they expected.  we got a wii and LOVE playing mario cart. seriously, i love it (even though i'm not great.)  we hope you had a very Merry Christmas!!!

i love going back to my parents.

pretty snow.

my brother being cool.

we had to park at the end of the hill and walk up to my grandparents.
we got some funny, funny videos going back down!

i almost fell on that ice after this picture.

first Christmas as a married couple!

LOVE to be around family!!
(and my new dress michael bought me for Christmas)

our week...

So, nothing this week really happened that was "blog worthy"....except the following:

Last night was the first time we actually went out and did something.  We saw Sean Lea at the Hub and then saw Blindside with Dave and his girlfriend.  It was like a Time of Favor reunion.  You missed out Skyler and Ava! :(

Michael is done with finals, so we can actually have some more time to have a life!!  He did really, really well this semester and I'm so proud of all his hard work.  Good job, honey!  And, thank you Jesus for giving me my husband back from all that studying time.

Oh, and I had all the gifts wrapped under the tree and then the water decided to leak so now I have to re-wrap some of them that got wet.  I'm thinking we'll be hunting for a good bargain on a tree right after Christmas this year.  The real tree is pretty, but needs lots of tlc.

I got my hair done, but I'm not crazy about it.  I kinda miss just the dark all over.  I put some blonde in it.  Why am I so indecisive on my hair???

I take back that last night was the first night we did something.  Tuesday night we went and bought new bedding.  We had a couple of gift certificates left and a coupon... so we ended up spending $12 out of pocket for a duvet cover, 2 shams and a bed skirt.  And, it's sooooo cute and comfy.  I love it all.

After we went shopping, we decided to use an Applebee's gift card we got a long time ago.  We did the 2 for 20 special.  We asked some of the trivia on the card on the table and then the assistant manager
came out and explained one of the steaks didn't look big enough so we would only be paying half the price.  So, we got our dinner for 10 bucks and he made new steaks.  We didn't even notice a long wait and wouldn't have cared about the size of steak.  We were already full off the mozzarella sticks.  Oh well, thanks Applebees!  We ended up not using the gift card because we felt bad so we'll go back again probably in like 6 months.

I'm still way bummed out that I have to work on Christmas.... a 12 hour shift.  Oh yeah, and my weekend consists of:  work.  12 hours on Saturday and Sunday, I'm not too thrilled about it.

Ok, something positive to end this long post of just words:
The lights inside our place look so pretty.  They are everywhere and I wish we could keep them up all year round.

a magical place.

i LOVE love loooove Silver Dollar City at Christmas time.  it's so beautiful!  we are starting a new tradition and i kinda like it, a lot.  we went to sdc for the bday in the fall with michael's family and mine.... and then we went on saturday with everyone again.  so fun.  i'm glad we all get along so well.

that was the best part of the weekend.  we planned on going to the springfield christmas parade... but it was kinda rainy and COLD.  so, we went to sdc that night.. makes sense, right?  michael studied for finals pretty much all day on sunday after church.  i'm ready for him to a have a little break from school!  he is too.

i may go get my hair done today... hmmm what to do with it?!

next Christmas...

i'm setting some goals for next year already.  i want to do some more homemade gifts, decor, etc.  i want to keep up with an advent calendar (even though i'm sure it will be much more fun when we have kids... i want to begin the tradition.) and i want to be done with all my shopping.... possibly even go out on black friday eaaaarly.  i would love to make an advent calendar like rachel's .  and i think i just might. :)

meet mya.

my sister got an early Christmas present.
i'm super jealous.  i can't wait until we can have a puppy.

p.s. it's snowing here in Springfield, MO! (and cold and windy.)

oh dear!

cute little guy, huh?

he loooooves me.

the weekend ended up being a little different than planned.  i got nothing done on friday because i got sick.  i'm tired of working around sick people and getting sick what seems like alllll the time.  this time was bad enough that michael slept on the couch. :(  our first night not sleeping in the same bed.  but, i can't blame him.  i mean, i was sick and he has finals soon so can't afford to get sickly now.  so, i didn't get to go to art walk and didn't do any Christmas shopping.  we did go to a wedding, but sat in the back and stayed only long enough to say hi.  i felt much, much better. then, went to his parents church for a Christmas choir service and last night was spent sipping on a mudturtle from mudhouse with michael's sister.  it was nice. :)

pictures found here.

happy friday!

today i will clean, clean, clean and possibly go do some Christmas shopping.  my plans for the evening include watching my nephew for a little bit and going to first friday art walk, possibly.  my friend, anna, is having some of her photography/art displayed and one is a photo of me on my horse.  so, i should probably go check it out!  tomorrow we have a wedding to go to and sunday we will relax after church.  good weekend?  i think so.

it feels like winter.

i feel like i've worked the week away and have done nothing else!  sad, sad feeling.  it did briefly SNOW while i was working.  it looked pretty (nothing stuck).  if it's going to be cold, then i want some pretty snow to see.  NO ice though...

stay cozy and warm.  i may not leave my place until tonight.

oh, and here's a little bit of what's on our tree:

we kinda went traditional on our real, beautiful tree.
it almost has a 50's feel to it.
i love it.
