happy friday night...

i worked until 7 tonight...
then we went to steak n shake with friends.
we like the chambers.

tomorrow we are going to look at house stuff...
i can't wait to check out some paint samples...
and see how my husband responds to ideas.

i'm in a bake-off for church on sunday night.
i still don't know what i'm going to bake.
anyone have any good recipes?
i already got a couple ideas from skyler.
but, i'm still trying to decide.

oh, and guess what?!
it's almost MARCH!
yes!

have a good last weekend of february.

sweet memory

michael and i met in april of 2007.
he was in the band still and i lived in joplin.

he came to the house i was living in with 3 lovely roomies
and decided to buy some flowers for the front yard.

he ended up spending almost $80
(not realizing how much they'd be.)
and remember, he was traveling with the band...
not making that much at all.

this was one month after we met.
that boy has always treated me well.

i let the flowers die
and then i moved from the house.
but, they were beautiful while they lasted.

i will have a beautiful, big yard in about a month
and can't wait to enjoy being outside working in the yard with my husband.

michael:  i promise to do better this time.

spring love.

i think just about everyone (including my friend, skyler
is ready for spring to be here.  it's just soooo close.
here are just a few things i'm looking forward to this spring:

there are some changes in our life coming this spring and i'm so excited about it.

motion weekend.

i have today and tomorrow off!  yes!  i don't have much planned and i like it that way.  i should probably think about packing at some point.  since we close on the house exactly one month from today!!  oh my goodness!  we don't have to move right away and i think that's why i'm not stressing about packing.  we're planning on getting all the painting and small renovations done before actually moving in.

speaking of houses,  we had a youth thing called motion over the weekend.  we stayed in a beautiful home.  the couple has seven kids so it was nice and big!  it was kind of in the middle of nowhere, but had a lovely big wrap around porch and tunnels downstairs that the boys play in.  i want that someday.  we stayed with the 7th and 8th graders... it was fun!

my husband wouldn't let me take his picture.

haley and lauren.. senior girls that i'll miss next year!

happy friday!

lots to do today... like tackle a big pile of laundry.  joy!  i have to start getting this place spotless so we get a full refund on our deposit.  our closing date is march 23rd (coming up soooo soon) and i keep dreaming up ideas in my head how i want to paint/decorate our new home.  (visit my tumblr to see my inspiration) i'll be sad to leave the lovely downtown springfield and move a little more south than i thought we would.  it sounds silly since we will still be like 10 min from downtown.  but, i'll miss being able to walk everywhere.

oh, and spring i think you need to hurry up and get here.  i can't wait to feel the sun and warm breeze and see all the pretty flowers you bring.

inspiration of the week from some of my daily reads:

mustard yellow typewriter by rachel at smile and wave.
we live in the same town.. so i know i can score some great finds like this.

i think my parents bumpy country roads should have flowers in all the potholes.
found on a cup of jo.

the kitchen will be one of the first things we tackle in our new house.
we're planning on brightening it up by painting the cabinets.
i love design sponge before and afters!

ahhh... i need to paint my nails more and buy some pretty spring colors.
katie at skunkboy creatures:  you've inspired me.

annnd cutest picture of the week is of baby soul.
LOVE it.

what inspired you this week?

have a fantastic weekend!!

pretty flowers.

we had a nice, relaxing love day on sunday.
michael got me some lovely tulips.

adorable.

i want one to hang in our new home.

i slept in until 11:30 today!!!  i haven't done that in forever. my throat is a little sore, but that's not stopping me from eating at culver's with my sister in law.  burger, fries and a shake sounds aaaamazing.

have a happy valentine's weekend!
doing anything romantic??

an off day.

i need some coffee (with a cute bow).

i've decided i need to learn some things.  i usually have days off during the week and i'm thinking i should be more productive. i follow all these blogs that are crafty so i guess i should start crafting and not just admiring everyone else and their crafting skills.  so i want to learn things like: how to crochet, sew better and cook/bake.  i want to teach my (maybe) future daughter all these things, so i guess i better get started on learning.  right?  it will be nice because if we get the house then i'll have my own area for crafty things.  but, for now i need to quit procrastinating and go do laundry.

here ya go, aimee bee.

i found you some cute hearts...

and if you get the hearts, you'll need this book.
from modcloth.  and inspired by if you give a mouse a cookie.

Love.

pretty photos to look at in honor of this love week.

happy 6 months to my wonderful husband (two days ago)

i love you michael gordon.
you're the best.

some news.

i've just realized i haven't been taking pictures!  we did a lot over the weekend and i have no pictures.  sad. i didn't even take a picture of the outside of our very possible new house!  yes, we made an offer.  they took the offer!! (after some going back and forth a little) it all happened WAY faster than i thought it would.  so, if everything else runs smoothly like the do what we asked them to after the inspection (which was yesterday) and everything is okay with the whole loan thing... we will close on march 26th.  it's crazy to think we are almost homeowners!

pray that today goes well with the loan officer.  i'm a little scared of this kind of thing. :)

happy friday!

in honor of next week being all about love :)
i want to do something extra special for my husband every day next week.

it's going to be another weekend that's filled with snow and cold.
i'm ready for spring so we can spend our weekends outside.

we have a pretty busy weekend planned and, now that i'm thinking about it, most of it has to do with sports?!  tomorrow we're going to look at a bunch of houses.  then, going to the boys basketball game at missouri state with friends....not my idea of an enjoyable saturday night, but at least meg will be there to keep me company! (and i think this could qualify as something extra special, since michael wants to go..right?)  sunday is church.  michael's playing drums this week and i love seeing that boy play!  and, of course, the super bowl is sunday so we're hanging out with people from our small group.

it should be a good weekend :)
hope yours is good, too.

hair.

i want my summer hair to look like this.

a little update...

can be found on my tumblr about our house search.

{michael took lots of pictures as we did a walk through
and i happened to be in this one..
 not posing for it.. just turned out kind of cool}

the boat.

my nephew's 2nd birthday was yesterday!

we went to his party on sunday at my parents house.  hagen fell asleep shortly before the party started and did not want to wake up!  he wasn't even interested in opening presents, eating cake or anything else.  the poor boy could barely keep his eyes opened.  we bought him a boat from bass pro and when he unwrapped it he got sooo excited and just kept saying "BOAT!"  after that, he didn't even care about opening his others presents.  he just wanted that boat.  he later decided his other gifts were pretty cool.

michael complained after this picture that we already have a lot that look like it...
and before i knew it, i was no longer on the ground.

my baby brother is all grown up.
