if you're friends with me on facebook.. you've already seen the little photo shoot anna (one of my bestest friends) and i will be doing throughout my pregnancy. :)

9 weeks.  Can I be honest?? (of course I can... this is my blog.) I'm really ready for January to be over.  Sorry.  I don't usually like to wish time away, but I'd like to skip this next month and head straight into my second tri.  I was feeling good right up until week 6 hit and these last three weeks have not been fun.  I feel so tired all. the. time. and haven't been able to enjoy food at. all.  What a debbie downer, right?  I am just looking forward to loving being pregnant.

I still love this little baby that's slowly growing.  I guess he/she just wants to give me multiple reminders every day and I can't wait until it's letting me know by kicking and cravings rather than fatigue and having my head in the toilet. (gross, i know)  I guess it comes with the territory for some of us blessed ladies. ;)

Hopefully next week will bring happier pregnancy stories.
:)

our Christmas and some baby talk.

this year we did Christmas a little different.  we took it EASY!  on Christmas morning we opened presents at our home (a first for us) and then headed to michael's parents (still in our pjs)... that live just down the street.  then, my parents and little brother came up for dinner.  my dad-in-law was sweet to grill a turkey for us and i made all the sides... mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, hot rolls, stuffing, corn on the cob...basically another thanksgiving dinner. ;)  it was a good day... and we had a little bit of a white Christmas!

merry christmas.

ok, now on to baby talk.  thank you so much for all the kind congrats!  i had a pretty big hunch at Thanksgiving that i was so when we got back from my parents i took three tests... all positive!  michael had no idea.  he finally got home from work (which seemed like the absolute LONGEST day ever to me) and i told him.  well, kind of.  i couldn't say it so i showed him a picture of the test. goodness.  he was immediately excited and that felt good.  we hadn't reaaally been trying.  in fact, it was just early september that we said "if it happens, it happens."  he wanted to be finished with school and have some time to relax.  well, he'll be done with school this may and we're having baby early august (which puts me at 9 weeks right now)!  i am already dreading the heat... but kind of excited to be big pregnant during the summer.  this blog has been put on hold along with a lot of other things because i have had terrible (and i mean terrible) morning sickness and pregnancy fatigue.  i want to sleep all the time and i've become best of friends with our toilet.  i can't hardly keep anything down.  ginger ale and crackers have also become pretty good friends of mine.  BUT, i know it will all be worth it and i only have hopefully a couple more weeks to feel like this!!  any advice??

p.s.  it was so hard to keep this in!!  i wanted to share with all of you, but felt i should wait a little while.  my husband on the other hand was bursting to tell everyone...  so we told our families the weekend after we found out!  we're so excited!

happy friday!

i hope you all have a fun and festive weekend!

today i'm finishing up some last minute Christmas shopping.
my wonderful husband JUST sent me his list in an email.... yesterday.

a tiny update.

i think i forgot how to be a good blogger.  whoopsies. we've been a busy couple trying to get ready for Christmas, watching lots of good Christmas movies and just spending time together.  every year i vow to be better at waiting until the last minute to buy/plan gifts... and this year is no different.  we're having Christmas at my parents on sunday and i still have so much to do.  it's a good thing i have the next couple of days off from work.  i always get it done, though so i'm not too terribly worried.

we got our first kind of official snow on sunday.  i love this season!

here's a little peek of what our house looks like...
i'm not sure why it looks like some bulbs are out... they aren't :)

christmas cheer.

lights & husband.

i'll try not to get too terribly sappy on ya... but let me just tell you, i married a goood man.  he put up our Christmas lights a couple of weeks ago and i never gave him credit for being way up high on a cold day (the ladder was pretty scary).  they look pretty and i love coming home to see them.  i should probably take a picture of them soon.
lights.
things are starting to slow down around here.  michael is done with this semester!  only one more to go!!! praise Jesus!  so, i get my sweet husband back and he's been extra happy lately.

p.s. thanks for all the kind comments about my feelings towards blogging lately.  i'm not going anywhere. :)

quiet.

winter 2009

sorry i've been MIA the past week.  i love keeping up with this blog, but i've needed some time away from the computer and just take in all that's been going on.  i apologize if things continue to be quiet around here for the next week or two.  i'm soaking in this season our of life and it's so, so good.

welcome december!

Picnik collage

we're big fans of december. i can't wait for all the things that will happen this month.  it's a time for being with family, spending cold nights watching beloved christmas movies (with hot chocolate and a fire going, of course) and some silver dollar city lights.  our month is quickly becoming packed full of places to be and people to see.  i'm just going to say it... i already love this december!  it's a special time of year.  i started my december by hanging out with skyler most of the day.  she's so fun!  we're pretty good about talking baby and blogs every time we get together.  i love it.

for better first day of december photos go here.  so cold & warm at the same time. :)
