HAPPY EASTER from the GORDON'S.

we hope you had a very Happy Easter!
i'm so thankful for the sacrifice that was made for us to live.

an easter engagement.

my sister-in-law got engaged yesterday!  we all knew it was coming, but she had no idea.  he proposed in a room full of loved ones at his parents house. it was a sweet day.  congrats to jaime and chris!

and when it stopped raining for like two minutes i snapped a few pictures of my nephew and his new soon-to-be cousin.

cuties... huh?

a very happy birthday to my handsome man.

today my husband is 24. 24 on earth day and on Good Friday.  i don't think i need to say again how much i love that man and how wonderful he is.  (he is soo wonderful.)  he's been such a sweetheart throughout my whole pregnancy.  it was hard on him in the beginning because he isn't so great with the whole throwing up business and he had to do more around the house because i was SO tired, but he took care of me... and without complaint.  the pregnancy is usually all about the woman.  but, i've learned a few things about my husband during this process as well.

...like how i'm not sure how he'll be when i am in labor.  i knew he had a bit of a weak stomach, but a few nights ago he cut his thumb.  he came upstairs and long story short:  he passed out, big time.  i was putting pressure on his bleeding thumb while he sat down and before i knew it he was like a ghost and i was holding him up and shaking him to wake up.  talk about scary.  so, now i've told him he will be sitting in a chair by the head of my bed and he doesn't need to look at what's going on. ;)

...he's a pillow thief.  the last couple of nights he's stolen my big body pillow and starts snuggling with it.  it helps me sleep sooo much better, but apparently it helps him sleep better, too.  ;)

...he's a trooper.  i pointed out the other day that he will be way out-numbered in our house.  3 girls (millie included).  he doesn't mind.

...he lights up when he talks about his little girl.  he pretty much came up with her name and i love the name we decided on together.  i love hearing him call her by name and that he just sits there with his hand on my stomach waiting for her to give a little kick.  i love that he is exciting to know about the stages that she's going through.  i love that he wants to be so involved.

he's a keeper for sure.  happy birthday, honey!

24.

i'm almost 25 weeks in.  last week was spent enjoying time with friends, my husband and family.  my mom, sister, brother and niece came to springfield to go shopping for baby girl and my mother-in-law joined us.  i absolutely love time with my family.

michael snapped a couple of pictures before we left for church... so i was still half asleep.  it was before 8 in the morning. ;)  he played drums yesterday and i think our baby girl really enjoyed the worship time at church.  she was going nuts.

we grabbed lunch on our way home and i had two sweet ladies come up to me to tell me how "cute" i looked.  it's funny how many people i catch smiling at me and looking at my bump.  i just smile right back because right now i mostly still feel cute... ask again in a few weeks and it might be a different story.

every day.

i need this print to put on the wall by my bed so i can see it every single morning.

i feel like i'm having the fastest pregnancy EVER.  i can't believe i'll be SIX months along this week.  and a lot of the time feels like such a blur now.  the "morning sickness" seems like forever ago and (thank goodness) i can hardly remember those nasty feelings.  and to think i didn't even want to think about eating.  that is just pure craziness because now food is like my bff. ;)  i want to embrace these last few months of my pregnancy and really soak in this time that i get to have baby girl all to myself...it's such a special time.  things aren't going to be slowing down any around here because michael is in his final weeks of college and i'm still working and trying to figure out weekends that will work for showers and we still need to finish things around the house and i haven't even started on her room.  but, i want it to be okay if we go without doing some things and take time to relax and enjoy each other.  i might not be posting as regular here on the blog because i might be too busy being present in every day and spending less time on the addicting internet... ;)  no worries.. i'll still be updating.  this blog has become such a special journal of our lives and a special way to share with family and friends.  so thanks for reading and always being so kind.

i sweet talked michael into taking some pictures as we headed out tonight.  he even got his shadow in them.  ;)

23 weeks.  goodness... our little baby girl will be here before we know it.  we're pretty settled on the name, but it's still a secret between the two (three) of us.

hey spring, i like you.

ahhhh spring-time.  i want kiss this weather!  it's BEAUTIFUL. we spent the majority of the weekend outside. well, some of us did. now i'm just lounging on the sofa and enjoying some relaxation while michael studies for his 3 tests he has coming up.  poor guy.  he worked SO hard yesterday... along with my dad and the in-laws in our kitchen.  don't wanna brag... but our kitchen is turning out pretty amazing. ;)  my niece and nephew came along with my parents and i loved spending time with them.  mom and i did some yard work and then michael and i worked on it some more after church.

that's our side flower garden... all those bags are full of weeds.
lots and lots of weeds.

i'll share our kitchen progress soon.

but, for now i'm off to the store to get stuff to make cookies
because our kitchen is back in order! YES.
