ORANGE BEACH.

we had a little family vacation last week and it was great!
we went with michael's family.

i will say... i'll probably never take a 14 hour road trip while being 30 weeks pregnant again. ;)

our 4 year old nephew loved the ocean.

i'm pretty excited to share the beach with Ellie someday.

PRAY FOR JOPLIN.

we just got back from alabama  and had a wonderful time.  i planned on sharing photos from our trip, but that will wait until later in the week.

sunday evening we were out to eat and i noticed via facebook status updates that missouri was getting some severe weather.  i called my mom to make sure there were okay.  they were.  they were in the basement as they were under a tornado warning.  she said joplin (about 15-20 minutes from their house) had been hit, but she didn't know how bad.  i called my brother (he lives in joplin) and no answer...phone lines were down.  i was starting to get pretty worried.  so i texted him and thank goodness he replied right away that he was okay.  my niece and her two boys were missing for a while and my dad went looking for them.  their house had come down on them while they took shelter in the bathtub. thank the Lord they are all okay!  my brother-in-law is helping clear the roads (he works for modot) and he said it is all so unreal.

so many lives lost and so many people lost everything.  please pray for the community that i was born and raised in.  they're calling for more severe weather coming in tonight and it makes me so on edge after seeing videos, pictures, and devastating posts take over my facebook news feed.  i know our God is in control and pray that people can find comfort and peace in Him during such a hard time.

BABY UPDATE.

baby ellie:

you're growing big and strong in my belly.  i had a doctor check-up today so we can go to the beach soon and hearing your little heartbeat makes me smile just like the first time i heard it.  i can't believe you will be here so soon.  keep growing strong (just don't get too big).

                              love,
                                momma.

28 weeks and 4 days today.  i'm measuring at a little over 32 weeks....my OB isn't too concerned since i am so petite and have a short torso.  he also mentioned i might have a little too much fluid causing me to measure big.  but, if i'm still measuring ahead at my next appointment in about 2.5 weeks then he'll do an ultrasound and this little girl might just be a July baby.  he cleared me to go to alabama soon and told me to get out of the car every 1.5 hours to walk around the car 15 times.  i don't want any blood clots... that's for sure!

i'm ready for a vacation.
michael is really ready for a vacation.  he's done with finals... praise Jesus!  we've been spending lots of time together and i LOVE it.

PHOTOS FROM MY PHONE.

mill & birdiesbelly & yardme.mill & flowercouch potato

millie is one sweet pup (and pretty lazy). little birdies in our backyard. stretchy tank and  big bump. favorite little corner in my backyard. driving down country roads to my parents/wind blowing. getting ready for baby. flower from the yard. mill in the shade on a 90 degree record breaking day. doodling like a 10 year old. husband is almost done with school. my mother's day.

hmmm can you tell i love the nashville filter on instagram probably a bit too much? ;)

hope all you mommas and mommas-to-be had a very special mother's day.

you guys:  i'm officially in the third trimester...whoa.

happy friday!

anna and i went to funtiques and red velvet yesterday.  i always love hanging out with that girl.  tonight michael and i are off to target to register!  i'll meet my girl in about 13 weeks. yep, that's about 90 days: give or take.
Pregnancy Stats:
How Far Along: 27 weeks.
Size of baby: from what I read she's a little over 2 lbs.  I measured at 27 last week at the OB's office when I was almost 26 weeks.
Total Weight Gain: about 15 lbs.
Gender: GIRL
Movement: She's most active at night now... usually as I'm trying to fall asleep, but I don't mind!
Sleep: I wake up a couple times to use the bathroom... but other than that I sleep great.
What I miss: Sleeping on my stomach & being able to walk around without feeling like I need a major nap after.
Cravings: Anything COLD.  I'm still loving cereal so much.
Symptoms: No major symptoms this week other than my swollen feet last Saturday after working & some leg cramps at night.
Maternity Clothes: I have two pairs of jeans and a couple of tops my MIL bought me... other than that I'm trying to make the clothes in my closet work.  Most of my dresses fit like shirts now. Hm.
Best Moment this week: last night Ellie was so active (I think it was because of the mexican food I ate).  I love seeing Michael's face light up when he feels her move.

oooops.

i've kind of gone mia from blogging.   to be completely honest it's probably because on my days off from work i don't do much of anything.... kind of like the other day when i spent the entire morning laying on the couch watching a full season of ANTM season 10 that i hadn't seen before.  it's been raining non-stop around here and it makes for easy days to lounge around inside.

i'm 27 WEEKS!!  can you believe it?  i got my first case of swollen ankles/feet on saturday.   i'll probably be switching to 8 hour shifts at work instead of 12 hours because walking on my feet that long with this extra weight (i've gained about 15 lbs) is just not working out.  my plan is to work until i get too uncomfortable so we can save back more for me to stay home with my baby girl!  i'm so thrilled to have a husband that is such a hard worker to make that possible.

and, speaking of my husband... i get him back soon.  no.. he didn't really go anywhere, but he's been SO BUSY with school and projects that i feel like i barely see him.  his last week of class is next week.  YES!

Ellie still doesn't have a middle name.  it seems like everything i say with it sounds too hick (ie we don't want to have an Ellie May on our hands).  any help ladies?  Ellie also doesn't have a nursery what-so-ever yet.  i'm gonna get on that soooon.

so there it is... what's going on with us lately.  we've been a pretty boring pair. ;)

*i should say i don't think "may/mae" is hick... just paired with ellie (beverly hillbillies, anyone?).  i think mae is a very sweet middle name. :)
