SUMMER EATING

kitchenkitchen5kitchen3kitchen2

i don't know how it is where you live, but it's hot here.  i planned on simple meals this week so i didn't have to make it even warmer in our house with the oven running. but, i tried a new recipe for oatmeal squares found on pinterest (they were alright... i doubled the recipe and next time won't put so much cinnamon in them).  and then last night i decided pizza sounded really good... so we had homemade pizza and i've used my oven everyday so far this week.

i can't complain much... at least we aren't battling the heat PLUS wildfires.  we were pretty excited to vacation in colorado this august and planned on staying with family out there... but now they are evacuated from their home.  praying hard for everyone involved, workers, and for rain.

  1. Came across your blog and am loving it so far! I'm also from Missouri (read in your about) and agree that it is terribly hot outside! Looking forward to reading more. xo

  3. i am definitely planning meals around the weather. thankfully, it's cooled down in boston this week, but it was a scorcher last week. and i don't know about you but we don't have air conditioning. i still made a homemade pizza, too! we sweated while we devoured it :)

    1. oh my! we have air conditioning and it's on all. the. time. plus ceiling fans are on upstairs and we sleep with a stand up fan in our room. we're wimpy when it comes to the heat, i guess! i've never been to boston, but definitely want to visit someday.

  4. mmm all of your food pictures look so good! We live in central cali so the weather has been in the 70's so it's hard to believe what everyone else in the country is going through as far as the heat! I can't imagine living in that heat everyday. Praying for your family's safety and their homes!
