i had a really hard time narrowing down pictures from our trip up pikes peak. sooo, bare with me? someone got a little snap happy on the way up and down and while we were at the top. who could blame me? it was gorgeous. the pictures don't do it justice in the least bit. we decided to drive up to the 14+ elevation on our last day in the springs so we were a little more used to the air. ellie seemed like it didn't effect her and it didn't bother either one of us. i'll admit... i was nervous taking her up there. it was one of the reasons we decided to drive instead of ride the cog. i wanted to be able to go back down quickly if we needed to. it's nice to think of myself as adventurous, but my mom-worrywart instinct definitely kicked in every now and then. our friends had gone up just a couple days before us and said it was freezing. so, i packed a heavier jacket for elle and we got to the top and it was beautiful hoodie weather. we spent about an hour at the top just taking in the views, letting elle walk a little and enjoying hot chocolate along with the famous donuts. it wasn't so bad driving it. good thing i really trust my husband!

    1. it's such a pretty area! we live in the ozarks (missouri) and take the scenery here for granted. it really is pretty here, too. we've decided to make the most of it here! :)
